I recently saw that Randy's Cheeseburger Picnic was coming to Lubbock. If you already know what that is, congratulations, all you need to know is that its Friday, October 21st at Jake's Backroom. If you don't know what the hell a Randy's Cheeseburger Picnic is, buckle up.

The promotional picture that accompanied the online announcement I saw was of a shirtless man holding several cheeseburgers against his, um, not hairless stomach. I was immediately confused, but excited. Some strange, seemingly esoteric event is coming to Lubbock? Time to research.

The main reason I was so confused is because I've only ever seen a couple of episodes of the cult comedy, Trailer Park Boys. I was probably MD 20/20 drunk when I saw them because I literally only remember Bubbles.

Trailer Park Boys is a Canadianmockumentarysitcom television series created by Mike Clattenburg that began airing in 2001 as a continuation of his 1999 film bearing the same name. The show follows the misadventures of a group of trailer park residents, including two lead characters in and out of prison, living in the fictional "Sunnyvale Trailer Park" in DartmouthNova Scotia.

After watching several YouTube clips of Randy getting berated by a van-dwelling J-Roc, I now feel more in the know. Randy never has a shirt on; Randy likes cheeseburgers; Randy is a pretty funny character. And Randy is coming to Lubbock. But what is Randy going to do?

Randy is going to do stand-up, contests, and other audience participation activities. I spent a long time on Reddit trying to figure that out and then found that it was spelled out in the event description. Whoops.

I still can't figure out if there's really going to be cheeseburgers there or not, or if Randy will hold them against his body for you. That might cost extra.
