KISS FM’s Buck-A-Ride Night At The South Plains Fair Is Tonight!
You can call it a fair preview. You can call it an unofficial kick-off. You can even call it a cheap date night if you want. Any way you want to go, KISS FM's Buck-A-Ride night at the South Plains Fair is the best night to go every year for a number of reasons.
1. No parking fees. (Even at the "free" concerts you still have to pay to park.)
2. No Gate fees. (Even at the "free" concerts you still have to pay to get through the gate, for everybody that goes.)
3. Every ride is just $1 (or ticket) for all ages all night! (Usually between 3 and 6 tickets per ride after our night, and the tickets can be close to a dollar a piece!)
4. It's the very first night of the fair every year so you get to go and ride before everybody else in town.
5. All the food vendors are open and since it's the first night they haven't run out of anything.
6. All the oil they deep fry all the food-on-sticks is fresh and brand new, not a week and a half old.
7. It's Thursday night so the crowds are smaller, smaller crowds=smaller or no lines.
8. The animals haven't been there for a week and left their "smell" on the whole place.
9. The rides haven't been puked on all week. They're fresh and clean.
So let's do the math real quick. On any other fair night you would pay:
$5 to park.
$8 per person over 13 through the gate, $3 for 12 and under
Megapass is $60 if you want to ride unlimited all week, or $1 a ticket at 3-6 tickets per ride.
So for a typical family of 4 with 1 child over 13 and 1 under you're looking at $152 for your kids to get a megapass. And that doesn't include any fair food yet, which is one of the best parts of the fair as everybody knows.
Or maybe your kids don't get the megapass and you just buy tickets for them. at 10 rides, 4 tickets per ride for each kid you're still paying $112 without food.
OR you could come to KISS FM's Buck-A-Ride night and pay:
$0 to park.
$0 to get in for all ages.
$1 per ride for everybody all night!
Same example of your family and kids riding 10 rides each, you've spent $20! That leaves you at least $90 for food, midway games, and souvenirs! I think I know which day I would go.
Join us Thursday September 22nd at the fair and have more food and more fun for a lot less money!
Here's a map to get there. (It's the green arrow.)
