How to Stay Safe Driving in Thick Lubbock Fog
It truly feels like winter today in Lubbock, Texas. The air is crisp, the sky is overcast, and a thick layer of fog is covering everything.
Where are we really?
It almost feels like we’ve left Texas and been transported to the Pacific Northwest, minus all the beautiful greenery and vampires running around. It's beautiful to experience, but also a little spooky if you aren’t used to it.
The scary thing is how low the visibility gets and how many people are unfamiliar with how to drive in inclement weather.
What is the problem?
We see it with all types of conditions, from snow, ice, rain, wind, dust, you name it, and Lubbock drivers often struggle to accommodate for it. I definitely think it has to do with the fact that we don’t often see very wet or cold weather conditions here. However, I’m sure it also has to do with not learning how to drive in those conditions in the first place, or simply not retaining the information after getting your license.
