Another week has passed, and we are just that much closer to those beautiful summer nights with crickets chirping, fires roaring, and weeds growing. If you were too busy to check the news, you might have missed this story asking if you can be fined for those annoying weeds in your yard. Well as someone who lives outside the city limits and is annoyed by my neighbors who think those ugly weeds growing in the ditches outside their homes are not their problem, think again.

Enough of the weeds in your yard and how about medical marijuana in Texas? There was an attempt at passing some legislation to expand on the use of medical marijuana for those that need it. Sorry recreational users. Can't have medical marijuana without food so how about an eggroll eating contest? I love eggrolls, so if I can sign up, I will and, of course, do some training.

Most people would think that a giant hot dog would be the dream but one, in particular, made its way to Lubbock. The Oscar-Meyer Weinermobile was in the Hub City and driven by a local, making her visit all the more special. Hopefully, someone got me a whistle. Speaking of whistles and food there is a dog-friendly event in Lubbock, the Lions Club Camp Bark and Brew event, which helps local charities in the Hub City.
