Lubbock ranked better than some larger Texas cities in a list of Best and Worst Cities for an active lifestyle, according to Wallethub. The two key dimensions analyzed in order to compile the list were "Budget & Participation” and “Sports & Outdoors.”

WalletHub compared the 100 biggest U.S. cities based on 38 key indicators of an active lifestyle. The data includes information from average monthly fitness-club fee to bike score to share of physically inactive adults.

Lubbock was ranked 68th out of 100 overall but placed 23rd in the "Budget & Participation". The "Sports & Outdoors" category is what hurts the overall rank for Lubbock, only placing 77th. The city of Lubbock may not be in the top half of the list but did better than other cities in the state such as Fort Worth - 78th, Corpus Christi - 88th, Irving - 95th and Arlington - 97th.
