The weekend is here, and this one is extra special because for many of us, it is a long weekend for Memorial Day. If you are looking for something to do but aren’t sure where to start, these last-minute plans are for you.
There is a bit of everything for everyone this weekend. Whether you want a new tattoo, want to grab a delicious regional treat, or re-experience your emo days, there is plenty to enjoy. Keep scrolling for more information.
Tornado Alley Tattoo Expo
Back for their 5th year, this tattoo expo will feature over 150 artists and vendors from across the United States. You can scout for an artist that fits your style, meet fellow tattoo/body modification lovers, or even get something done during the event.
The event starts on Friday, May 24, at noon and goes on through Sunday at 10:00 p.m.
Malasadas at Cardinal’s
If you’ve never had malasadas, you are seriously missing out. They are pastries that originated in Portugal but were popularized in Hawaii. They are similar to a jelly filled donut with a sugar coating, fluffy texture, and fruity or creamy filling.
Wiki-licious Lubbock will be selling boxes of them at the Cardinal’s parking lot on Friday, from 11:00 to 2:00 p.m.
Emo Night
Whether you still rock out to My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, and Taking Back Sunday, or you want to relive your emo glory days, this event is a blast. Hosted at Jake’s Backroom, J & B Productions will be playing all of your favorite emo music all night long on Saturday, May 25, starting at 8:00 p.m.
