Sometimes losing one thing you like means that something else you like will take its place. Remember the Jack-In-The-Box at 98th and Slide? It's gone. But now it's a Starbucks.

My friend Ande is a manager at Starbucks and she told me that they just opened the brand new location at 98th and Slide. If for no other reason, that's great news because it will ease the congestion here at the corner of 82nd and Quaker. Plus, there's always room for another Starbucks.

I've always been a fan of the company because of the way they treat their employees and the communities they serve. They always do something to help local charities in every neighborhood they open a location. And this new Lubbock location is no different.

The grand opening is this week, and to celebrate they are helping to support the South Plains Food Bank. They are open daily from 5 a.m. - 11 p.m., and if you bring a can of food for the food bank you get a free tall drink.

So swing by the new Starbucks at 98th and Slide and tell them you heard it on our station.
