I had just finished watching their documentary on Netflix and then just a few days after that saw a billboard promoting the show a few weeks ago and I got so excited to see that one of my favorite singing groups growing up would be stopping in my hometown!

TLC redefined what it means being a strong powerful woman int he music world:
TLC is known for their blend of R&B, pop, and hip-hop swagger and they redefined what it meant to be bold, fun, and fearless in music. From the playful sass of “Ain’t 2 Proud 2 Beg” to the one of my favorite songs, “Unpretty,” TLC’s catalog is a rollercoaster of empowerment, real talk, and catchy-as-heck anthems that have stood the test of time.
The trio includes Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas, and the late Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes. All three women became cultural icons with their standout style, messages of self-love, and genre-blending sound. Their 1994 album CrazySexyCool not only won them a Grammy but also went diamond. An achievement few artists can claim. Talk about a ‘Mija, Yes You Can’ moment!!
Even decades later, their music is still heard on the radio, their impact still resonates, and their live performances are electric and we will be able to see that for ourselves on Saturday, August 16th as they make their way to Speaking Rock for a FREE concert.
