Don’t Forget The Downtown Farmers Market This Saturday
I was just looking through the different events happening this 4th of July weekend and it occurred to me that some of you usually have to work on Saturdays and may not have had a chance to check out the Downtown Farmers Market.
What could be more American than checking out the produce, crafts and other cool stuff that is locally sourced at the Downtown Farmers Market. I spent about a half a summer helping out with the Market and I call tell you that these folks take a lot of pride in what they do. With pride as a cornerstone of the Market, you know you're going to have a fun time shopping.
Rule number one, come hungry if you can. There's usually multiple food trucks and sometimes you can even get freshly baked breakfast pastries. You'll find a nice assortment of produce and some very cool arts and crafts on display.
Rule number two, bring your own bag. It's good to bring a bag or a backpack to put your stash in. The Market is not that big, but if you find something you like, it's best you pick it up right then and there.
Rule number three, arrive as early as you can. This isn't a grocery store, some vendors sell out and when they sell out, they are done for the day. There's no back stock or grabbing another rack. If it's a busy day you could be out of luck.
You can catch the Downtown Farmers Market at 19th and Buddy Holly from 9 to 1 this Saturday.
