Alright as all of may or may not know, I am all about beating the life out of a kid if it means saving their lives or correcting a path they may be headed down. For some kids it is all they understand. Grounding, time out and loss of privileges just does not get it done. You simply have to get their attention and one good way to do that is to hit them up side the head! Now it looks like the kids have scored one for their side and their backsides may be safe.

I'm not to sure how accurate this study is, but it's generating some controversy and it makes a very bold statement. According to a study in the "Journal of Behavioral Medicine" from Plymouth University in the U.K., spanking or hitting your kids increases their chance of getting cancer! WTF?

The study found that children who were hit by their parents once a month or more were 70% more likely to develop cancer than other children. They're also 30% more likely to develop heart disease. How does getting hit up side the head or butt give you cancer? Really?

The theory being that physical punishment leads to more stress as a child. And that stress early in life can take a toll on the body and manifest itself as a tumor or other types of abnormalities.

I don't know about this one. I got my ass worn out as a kid and I am cancer and heart disease free so far. What do you think? Can a spanking give you a tumor or bad heart?
