UMC’s New Health & Wellness Hospital Officially Opens in South Lubbock

After a long wait, UMC has officially opened their stunning new Hospital on December 4th, 2023.

The Health & Wellness Hospital, located off of Slide Rd and 114th St, is an amazing new facility with a variety of great services that will be offered to the Lubbock Community.

The first announced the opening of this new location in 2022, and anyone that drives around South Lubbock has definitely noticed the beautiful building they have been constructing. With floor-to-ceiling windows, unique curving architecture, and more, it is a sight to behold.

Not only is it a gorgeous building, but it has opened up the opportunity for over 200 jobs. Knowing UMC’s ‘Service is Our Passion’ culture, I think this is a great opportunity not only for employment, but healthcare in Lubbock.

The hospital features a level-3 emergency center, a state-of-the-art radiology department, a drive-thru pharmacy, and a beautiful fitness center.

• Occupational & Physical Therapy
• Operating Rooms & Cardiac Cath

The fitness center is available for the public to use via membership and is a great way to encourage ‘health and wellness’ as the facility’s name implies.

• Sports Medicine

Clinics at this hospital will include UMC Physicians and Texas Tech Physicians who offer:

I know several people that work for UMC, and they have all taken time out of their regular schedules to assist in getting this facility ready for the public. From setting up a variety of departments to hanging local art and photography to decorate the halls, it really took a village to get this hospital ready for opening day, and it is amazing.
