Here’s What Teal-Colored Pumpkins Mean
Have you heard anything about The Teal Pumpkin Project? It's actually kind of cool, and anything that expands Halloween is good by me.
Teal Pumpkin
The Teal Pumpkin Project is pretty simple. Teal is the color, the OK sign, for people with food allergies.
A teal pumpkin outside a home simply says that that house has non-candy Halloween treats that are safe for kids with food allergies. Houses are encouraged to put out a teal pumpkin and give away alternatives for Halloween candy, such as toys, pencils and stickers.
You may not have seen many teal pumpkins yet as the project is only in its second year. But what a great way to help all kids enjoy the spirit of Halloween.
There's a hidden bonus to this project for me, too. Now I know what color teal is.
