Football season has officially started, and every Texas Tech fan is ready to cheer on their school. Whether you're tailgating, attending the game, or watching from home, you have to wear a Texas Tech shirt and show your pride.

If you're a Texas Tech student, then you probably have way too many shirts from the university that you never wear. I know how fun it is to dress up on gameday and get Instagram-worthy photos at the stadium, and sometimes the free shirts the school gives out aren’t very fashion forward. So why not breathe some life back into those shirts and try out a DIY project to make them much more stylish and gameday ready?

I recently came across a video on TikTok of someone admiring a very trendy shirt online, but discovering that the price was way more than they were willing to pay. (Plus they don't even offer a Texas Tech option.) So they took a few of their old-school shirts, cut them up, and matched the design the best they could.

For this project you just need a loose-fitting Texas Tech t-shirt, some safety pins or grommets, and chains. Other than the shirt, you can buy all of those supplies from any craft store you prefer.

Then, you just cut the top to shape, attach the chains with the grommets or safety pins, and you're good to go. Now you've repurposed a t-shirt you might've never worn again and made an adorable gameday fit.

There are many other DIY projects you can do to revamp an unused t-shirt, so if this one doesn’t fit your style, check out some other options that might interest you.
