Yes this weekend is the "Red, White, and Blue Weekend" But what does that mean? Well I'll tell you.

The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team is in town this weekend to play against some local teams for a good cause. Its entirely open to the public too so you can take the kids out and have a family fun night Saturday. Check out the full press release so you can plan your weekend. Plus you help out a lot of soldiers who have fought for us and deserve our respect at the very least.

Thursday, April 28 at 6:00 p.m., the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team (WWAST) will be participating in the ‘Red, White, and Blue Weekend" in Lubbock, TX. Beginning at 6:00 PM, the WWAST will be hosting a Meet & Great at Llano Winery. Mayor Glenn Robertson and Coronado Alumni and NFL Veteran Landon Johnson will be in attendance. On Friday, April 29 th the WWAST will play their first game at the LCU Hays Field Complex on 26th Street Gates Opening at 6:00 P.M.. Family Power Sports Pride Ride 2016 is April 30 th With Kickstands up at 8:30 am as Mayor Glenn Robertson and Wounded Warrior Hero’s Visit The Lubbock Veterans War Memorial. In the evening Gates open at Hayes Field LCU Complex at 6 pm.

“This is a great weekend of family fun while we are supporting those that have sacrificed and served to protect our liberty.” Says event organizer, Chuck Brown of Cloud9 EMP.

“It is very satisfying to know that the Lubbock area is a strong supporter of the military and honors active duty soldiers and Veterans,” said Dennis Wince, WWAST Executive Director and US Army Retired Veteran.

“We are very excited to play here and know that it is going to be a great weekend of events. Working on this venue, we have seen first hand the strong pride that this area of Texas displays for military personnel and Wounded Warriors and it is very gratifying to see the recognition for those that have served our country."
