Texas Tech Announces Massive Dairy Barn Restoration Plan
Texas Tech's College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources has announced a $2.6 million restoration project for the university's historic Dairy Barn.
The building has been vacant for 50 years, but its landmark status makes it an important piece of Texas Tech's appeal and history. Once restored, the barn will be a congregation spot for student, faculty and staff of the University.
According to KAMC, some of the proposed renovations involve securing and updating the historic building’s interior with the creation of two large meeting areas on the barn’s first floor, as well as the creation of loft spaces and the addition of several offices.
Open-space areas will feature internet connectivity, open writing and exhibit spaces and versatile layout options for disciplinary and multi-disciplinary groups.
