Texas Tech Baseball Is BACK: Here’s How the Boys Look [Photos]
Texas Tech baseball is back and the Lubbock community is excited and ready.
The team opened its first game at home against Dallas Baptist on Tuesday, February 22nd with a win 8-4.
The game was a good one, with Jace Jung, Dillion Carter and Ty Coleman already stepping up to make some big plays. This comes after some hard games played in Arlington with a win against Michigan, and losses to Auburn and Arizona.
Last Saturday when Texas Tech was facing Auburn in Arlington, Carter had an amazing play where leaped above the outfield wall at Globe Life Field to steal a home-run ball. The play even made the ESPN SportsCenter's Top 10 plays.
Texas Tech's first full home series is happening this weekend against Kent State starting on Friday at 2 p.m., followed by a second game Saturday at 2 p.m., and wrapping up Sunday at 1 p.m. You can win tickets through our radio station for those games right now.
Head Coach Tim Tadlock said the pitching rotation will be in the starting order of Andrew Morris, Brandon Birdsell and Mason Molina.
Texas Tech has a tough schedule this year, but we know they will all do great. You can see the conference schedule below, along with pictures from the team's game against Dallas Baptist taken by Jason Davis, CreativeMagic.
