Rein in the New Year with a Celebratory Dance Party

The new year is approaching fast and taking many of us off guard. It feels like just yesterday when we were first starting or resolutions for 2023 and hoping for the greatest year yet.

Whether this year did or did not turn out to be your best year yet, I hope you still made many memories, enjoyed time with loved ones, and did things you are passionate about. I also wish the best for you leading into 2024!

If you are looking for a way to celebrate the new year and aren’t sure where to start, there is an event that might interest you. Social Dance Lubbock, a local group that teaches ballroom, swing, and Latin dance lessons, as well as occasionally performs around town, is hosting a special end-of-year event.

They recently switched venues and are now going to host their events and monthly classes at the Lubbock Municipal Garden & Arts Center (GAC).

To celebrate this move and rein in the new year, they are hosting a New Year Dance Party on December 30th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at 4215 University Ave. There will not be a dance lesson provided for this event, but there will be a mix of styles represented throughout the playlist for the night so you can show off any moves you currently know.

There will also be themed snacks, a photo booth with costume props, and a beautifully lighted and decorated atmosphere.

There is a per-person cover charge for the event, they are asking for guest to RSVP, and more details are available on the official Facebook event page. Also, keep an eye out on their social media for the classes you can attend in the new year.
