What is it about that feeling of the sun on your skin in the summer? You work hard and you play harder and whatever the case may be the sun is always there killing your tattoos.

It's no secret that tanning isn't really all that good for your skin, but it's even harder on your tattoos. Ultraviolet rays may add a nice dark tone to your skin but they will also drain the life out of a tattoo. The more you tan, the more the ink fades and slowly goes from vibrant to boring.

Does that mean your  sun tanning days are over?  That all depends on how much you love your tattoos and if you want them to stay crisp and brilliant. Now if you can't stand it and must go soak up some rays, at least use sun block. Find the highest SPF level you can find and re-apply often.

Believe it or not tanning beds are just as harmful as the sun, possibly a little more harmful. The ultraviolet rays are much more concentrated in a tanning bed and people do not realize their own limits and fake-n-bake to long. Again, if you must do it, protect your ink!

I can almost hear you out there saying "I don't have time for this" or "I'll never do that". Really? A tattoo is an investment and only an idiot would not protect their investment. If you take care of it a tattoo can stay vibrant looking for many years.
