In the world of academics the letter grade "C" can be equated to "average". The  letter grade "A" can be equated to "above average or excellent". The distance between the two is actually very small. So small in fact that you could transform your kids grades in one week.

A new study out of Indiana University in Bloomington found that the difference between students getting A's or A-minuses, and a C-plus or lower is four hours of studying a week.

Findings are part of an annual report released Thursday by the National Survey of Student Engagement, a higher education research center based at Indiana University-Bloomington.

To put it simply: The survey concluded after surveying 258,000 students just what it takes to be a "C" student versus what it takes to be an "A" student. The findings? Four hours of study time a week. That's it!

Set your kids down for 45 minutes more a day and watch the results for yourself. Good luck this school season.
