Lubbock Woman Killed in Fatal Two-Vehicle Accident Southwest of Wolfforth

A fatal two-vehicle crash in Hockley County left a Lubbock woman dead and a Levelland man in the hospital.
The Texas Department of Public Safety reported the crash happened on Monday, December 20th, just after 6:30 a.m. on FM 1585, 5 miles southwest of Wolfforth.
Authorities say a 2011 Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by 45 year-old Gerry Wayne Varner, of Levelland, was traveling east while a 2017 Cadillac SUV driven by 64 year-old Linda Baker Redeker, of Lubbock, was driving west.
Varner crossed the center median and collided head-on with Redeker. Redeker was pronounced dead on scene and Varner was taken to University Medical Center in Lubbock with serious injuries.
This crash remains under investigation.
