37-year-old Brett Jamar Johnson of Lubbock has been accused of breaking into his girlfriend's home, assaulting her and then later shooting multiple bullets inside the home.

Witnesses say that Johnson forced his way through the front door of his girlfriend's home in the 2100 block of 35th Street. Reports indicate that Johnson forced his way in by kicking in the door. Afterwards, it's said that he assaulted his girlfriend. The exact details weren't clear.

KAMC News reports that shortly after the alleged assault, Johnson left, but he showed back up a bit later with a firearm. When he showed up the second time, police say that Johnson opened fire inside the home around 3 times before running away.

It was explicitly stated what injuries were sustained, if any by any parties involved in this incident.

It was a little bit after this point that officers responded to the home after receiving reports of a civil disturbance. One of the responding officers even tried to arrest Johnson as he was fleeing, but he kept running.

Eventually, Johnson was captured by police and arrested.

Johnson remains in the Lubbock County Detention Center on 2 charges of burglary, felon in possession of a firearm and evading arrest. His bond has been set at $145,000.
