Lubbock Last-Minute Plans: Comic Con, Father’s Day, and More
Once again, the weekend is upon us. So, get those calendars and start marking down what Lubbock events you want to check out.
This Friday starts off strong with a couple of big events for nerds and foodies alike.
West Texas Comic Con is finally here from Friday, June 16, through Sunday, June 18. There will be a variety of special guests including Dragon Ball Z voice actors, the red and yellow Power Rangers from space, some amazing artists, and more. Whether you want to show off your favorite cosplay, buy some special merch, or meet your favorite guests, there is plenty to do at this convention, held at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center.
The foodie event that every Lubbockite adores is back. Midnight Cravings is a great way to get your late-night fix of some of Lubbock’s beloved food trucks. This Friday’s lineup includes trucks like The Lunch Box, Texas Mac Shack, Bahama Bucks, Boomerang BBQ, The Soda Shack, and more. This event takes place in the Cardinal Sport’s Center parking lot.
West Texas Comic Con will continue through the weekend, and Saturday is usually one of the best days to go. Other than that, there are a few other great events to check out.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream Market is happening at 408 Ave J, and the 12th Annual Car & Bike Show will be hosted at Wild West Harly-Davidson. You can also check out one or both of the farmer’s markets in town. Both the Wolfforth and Lubbock Downtown Markets are great places to shop locally.
This weekend also has a few Father’s Day events going on. For more information, check out the list below:
