However, Amarilloans didn't fall out of love with the delicious chicken planks, crunchies, hushpuppies, and fish. In fact, it turned into a longing for these delicious foods. Folks from Amarillo and the Texas Panhandle would travel to other cities hours away just to get their Long John Silver's fix and then post their photos to social media, making others jealous. This absence only deepened Amarillo’s craving for Long John Silver's

When and Where is Long John Silver's Reopening in Amarillo?

Back in April, we shared that Long John Silver's was finally returning to Amarillo, and we are excited to announce that it will finally be open in July.

The new Long John Silver's will be located at 4406 Bell Street in the former Mr. Noodle's/Arby's Building.

Who Owns the Long John Silver's Franchise in Amarillo?

The franchise is owned by Splash Foods, LLC, and Denis Schoenhofer, based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His partners include James Bryan of the Texas Panhandle and Randy Burnett of Kansas.

We couldn’t be more excited to bring Long John Silver’s back to Amarillo” said Schoenhofer. “It’s clear that the community has a strong connection to the brand, and we know this new location will make waves.

Schoenhofer owns 22 KFC restaurants, including 6 locations in the Amarillo area. This will be the first Long John Silver's franchise, but the company plans to expand into other areas in the future.

One change that you can expect is the French fries, they won't be the LJS fries you remember.  The company has moved on to waffle fries, which it launched less than a year ago.
