Wade Cowan Announces Challenge To Dustin Burrows
State Representative will face at least one Republican primary challenger. Wade Cowan announced his campaign for State Representative for House District 83.
According to a press release, Cowan is an 8th generation farmer who wants to "shore up Second Amendment rights, secure the border, drive down property taxes and stop Chinese communists from buying up our land".
In his press release, Cowan said Burrows is pushing his own agenda in Austin.
“I don’t like Austin, but someone has got to go up there and represent our interests. Our current representative is just another self-dealing lawyer pushing a personal agenda. Power has become more important to him than serving the people he represents. I’ve had enough of it. It’s about time to send a farmer to fight for our interests in the state capitol,” said Cowan.
Cowan has been involved with the American Soybean Association for several years. He served as the organization’s president from 2014-2015 and then as Chairman from 2015-2016 according to his website.
Burrows was first elected in 2014 and currently chairs the House Calendars Committee.
