According to recent data from the U.S. Census Bureau, between 2020 and 2023, Texas scored 9 spots out of the top ten when it came to fastest growing cities in the nation.

Before I reveal the list, it's important to keep in mind that these are based off of percentages, so you'll be hard-pressed to find a major city like Dallas or Houston on the list. Instead, these are mostly smaller cities within the Lone Star State that has seen the highest percentage of growth within the three years recorded by the census.

All totals were taken from Census.gov data and population numbers from worldpopulationreview.com.

#10 - Georgetown, TX

This central Texas city just north of Austin saw a growth of 40.1% between 2020 and 2023. Population was just over 67,000 in 2020, but increased to over 105,000 by 2023.

#9 - Manor, TX

Nestled in Travis County, also near Austin, Manor grew by 43.2% in three years. 2020 population: 14,112. 2023 population: 20,209.

#8 - Amherst, MA

Gross, not Texas.

#7 - Forney, TX

Found in Kaufman County just east of Dallas, Forney's population went from about 24,000 to just over 35,000: 48.5% increase.

#6 - Anna, TX

Small town north of McKinney. Anna had a population of 17,370 in 2020, and jumped up by 58.3% to 27,501 just three years later.

#5 - Princeton, TX

Good ol' Collin County. Princeton saw a growth of 59.8% from 2020 to 2023: 17,000 to 28,000.

#4 - Melissa, TX

Just south of Anna, Melissa's population boomed between 2020 and 2023, increasing 64.4% from 14,336 to 23,571.

#3 - Royse City, TX

This small city in Rockwall County had a population of just under 14k in 2020, but shot up to 24,138 in just three years. That's an increase of 76%.

#2 - Fulshear, TX

Now we're getting to the heavy hitters. The penultimate Texas city on this list is found west of Houston and went from a measly population of 17,558 in 2020 to a whopping 42,616 in 2023. That's a huge 142.7% increase!

#1 - Celina, TX

Last but certainly not least in this list is the city of Celina. The percentage of growth is VERY close to the #2 spot at 143.2%. That's right, Celina's population was 17.8k in 2020, then skyrocketed up to 43.3k in 2023.
