How Did This Charming Lubbock Coffee Bar Escape My Radar?
Lubbock is becoming known as a hub of gastronomic wonder. Not to be outdone by the proliferation of amazing restaurants and brewpubs that the area has to offer is the burgeoning coffee scene.
After all, we've now hit the map with the opening of a new Dutch Bros. location in Lubbock, but that's more of a grab-and-go destination with no indoor seating. Sometimes, you just want to sit back and enjoy a great coffee beverage with a delicious pastry and watch the world go by.
I've driven by this spot a hundred times, noticing the nail salon and also the Llano Estacado Meat Company as I cruised on by. I'd seen the sign for the Bara' Coffee and Pastry Shop, but hadn't thought to stop in.
Until today.
Why. Did. I. Wait?
When you walk up to the setting inside The Ranch House at 122nd and Quaker, you notice a covered outdoor patio that has plenty of space for socializing, but once inside, you get the vibe that this is a welcoming, family-owned place to grab a coffee and something sweet to much on, while you sit at your laptop and write the Great American Novel.
The decor is fun and funky, and the vibe is cool. Plus, the coffee was damn good.
According to their website, just about everything at this family-owned coffee shop is handcrafted or sourced from local companies in the Lubbock area. They state that they...
Make all of our pastries in-house and from scratch
Are always switching up our selection of products
Brew all of our natural coffee right here in our café
Are also a specialty tea shop with a unique selection
I didn't think to ask how long they've been at this location, but it doesn't matter. They're here now and will hopefully be in business for many years to come. Trust me, I will make this a regular stop from here on out. After all, coffee is life, and I have a best-selling novel to finish writing.
