Helping Others: Lubbock MOW’s 12th Annual Feed Seniors Now
Looking to help out and give back to the community? This is a great way to do that.
Comfort Keepers of Lubbock and Lubbock Meals on Wheels are gearing up for their 12th Annual Feed Seniors Now event. This benefits Lubbock Meals on Wheels’
Weekend Meal Program.
This program provides weekend sacks to clients in Lubbock and Wolfforth who have no access to food or assistance on weekends. This was started because of all the growth in Lubbock. Lubbock Meals on Wheels is now providing weekend assistance to 350 seniors each weekend. They hope to add more.
Their waitlist is still growing and they need your help whether it's being a sponsor, volunteer or donate items. This program is so important because most of the people they serve the meals they get brought from Lubbock Meals on Wheels and the only meals they have to eat.
If you want to donate items they need anything that is nonperishable. Those are things like individual mac and cheese, peanut butter crackers, canned items, soup cans, and stuff like that.
Throughout the month of September, they make and collect sacks to give out to their clients in the area who need it and don't have access to food or help on the weekends.
How can you help? You can call LMOW to see what they need or donate your time. You can learn more about volunteering here. If you want to send an online donation you can do that here.
LMOW is located at 2304 34th St. Lubbock, TX 79411 or call them at (806) 792-7971.
