United Blood Services is usually pretty good about not bugging people for donations too much. They give me a call when it's been the eight weeks or whatever and I'm eligible to give again, but that's really about it. That's why a couple of weeks ago, when I started getting repeated e-mails telling me that they were critically low on my blood type, I took it seriously. I went in and donated last week with a friend, was out of there in less than an hour, and got some free pizza out of it. Of course the feeling that you've likely just saved someone's life is pretty good too. They are running a bit short right now, so if any of you have some time, or need an excuse to duck out of the office early tomorrow, please consider dropping by 48th and University and donating blood.
