Get Free Eclipse Glasses When You Buy this Limited-Edition Sonic Treat
A solar eclipse is on its way and a large chunk of Texas is in its path of totality.
That means those that live in the direct path of the moon will experience it completely covering the sun at 12:35 p.m.
The Texas cities included in the path include San Antonio, Austin, Waco, Dallas, Fort Worth, and more. Don’t worry if you don’t live in these areas because you will still experience the eclipse, just with partial coverage.
If you are wanting to view the eclipse, you have to be sure to wear proper eclipse glasses to protect your eyes.
You can order the glasses online, find them sold locally in your city, or get a pair for free while also getting a delicious, sweet treat.
Sonic is currently selling their Blackout Slush Float which is a dark cotton candy and dragon fruit flavored slush, soft serve vanilla ice cream, and sprinkles. It only comes in a size medium, and you get a pair of Sonic eclipse glasses with your purchase.
I gave it a try and it was very fruity and refreshing. Although the dark color is intimidating, it is really just a very dark purple color.
I think it is fun that they do these special limited edition slush floats, like the Shark Week and red white and blue one they’ve done in the past.
So, check with your local Sonic to see if they have it available, and snag some eclipse glasses so you don’t miss out on all the fun on April 8th.
