Did Samsung Rip-Off Apple’s iPad, Or Did Apple Rip-Off The Movie 2001? [VIDEO]

The website Talking Points Memo has posted Samsung's response to Apple's patent infringement lawsuit. And for some reason it's the movie "2001: A Space Odyssey". According to Apple, Samsung violated some of their patents with their phones and tablets. Well Samsung fired back by saying that Apple's patents aren't valid because Stanley Kubrick's 1968 movie had the idea first, and they used this clip to prove their point.

I'm really not understanding either side of this argument. Apple didn't invent the concept of a tablet computer, or a touch screen or any of that. Those ideas have been around for decades, just watch any Star Trek episode and you'll see a concept or idea that's way ahead of what they claim they invented. As for Samsung, this clip proves nothing except that the movie had the idea of flat screen tv's before anyone else. Oh well, I'll let the courts decide this crybaby battle.
