Starting Thursday, December 31st, the City of Lubbock Health Department will begin administering the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to citizens who fall into Phase 1A and 1B.

Those falling into 1A are paid and unpaid workers in hospital settings working with patients who are positive or who are at high risk for COVID-19, long-term staff working with vulnerable residents, EMS providers, home health care workers, residents of long-term care facilities, community pharmacy staff and public health and emergency response staff involved in COVID-19 testing.

Those falling into 1B are citizens ages 65 or older, those between 16 and 64 years of age with a medical condition such as cancer, chronic kidney disease, heart conditions, obesity, pregnancy and type 2 diabetes.

The vaccine clinic will be at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center Exhibit Hall.

Those falling into Phase 1A will be vaccinated from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. You must present a badge or other agency identification to be admitted to the clinic.

Vaccinations for those falling in Phase 1B are by appointment only. Those wishing to be vaccinated can make a same day appointment by calling 806-775-2933. Those in Phase 1B, by appointment, will be vaccinated between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The City of Lubbock will be receiving more COVID-19 vaccines in the coming weeks, and additional clinics will be scheduled.
