City Council to Consider Ordinance Change Regarding Mobile Homes
On Tuesday, Dec. 17, the Lubbock City Council holds their 2nd meeting of December and will discuss various proposals and ordinances, including one that affects where mobile homes can park.
During the regular meeting, Lubbock City Council members will look at amending a city ordinance that allows mobile homes and travel trailers to be used in any zoning district in cases of "extreme hardship".
According to KAMC News, approvals for extreme hardship as it relates to mobile homes and travel trailers have become lax and more frequent and the provision could be removed from the zoning code entirely.
The city council will first need to approve the second and final reading of the ordinance change on Tuesday for the proposal to move forward.
In addition to the ordinance change, the city council will likely approve funding for traffic signal equipment to be installed at the intersection of State Highway 114 and Inler Avenue.
The council will also look at a contract for a new roof to be installed at Fire Station #5, located at 1101 Zenith Avenue. They will also consider a contract related to construction of a new walking trail at Leftwich Park, located at 60th Street and Elgin Avenue.
