Lubbock Police are investigating an alleged shooting that took place Saturday night, Dec. 14, in the 300 block of Sherman Avenue.

According to a police report, the shooting took place in an alley at about 9:30 p.m. when a male victim was taking out the trash. The victim says he was approached by a hooded man who tried to rob him at gunpoint.

The victim ran away and police say he was shot at three times, and hit once in the left side of the torso. EMS took the victim to UMC for treatment but his current condition is unknown.

A witness to the shooting reportedly told police they saw the suspect run west down 3rd Street. Investigators collected shell casings at the scene and are still investigating. No suspects have been arrested.
