If you've been keeping up, the Jonathon Kuminga story has been one of the biggest stories of the quarantine. If you haven't been keeping up, I'll catch you up on the bullet points.

Jonathon Kuminga is one of the best high school prospects in the last decade. Originally he was slated to be the headline recruit of the 2021 class, but during the past semester, he reclassified and graduated high school early to become the top-rated recruit of the current 2020 recruiting period.

Back in May Kuminga listed his top-5 destinations for 2020 and named Texas Tech, Duke, Kentucky, and Auburn on the list. He also put the NBA G League among the contenders.

The list was quickly whittled down between Texas Tech and the G League by most major prognosticators. The Red Raider connection bolstered by the presence of Kuminga's brother and former UNLV transfer Joel Ntambwe. Before transferring to the Red Raiders Ntambwe had declared for the NBA draft in April of 2019. He then undeclared and joined Texas Tech before being denied every waiver appeal to the NCAA for eligibility.

Now, as it stands, Jonathon Kuminga will make his decision on whether or not he'll attend Texas Tech or head to the professional ranks. He's planning to make that decision Thursday, July 16th at 2 p.m. according to his Twitter account.

There are several possible outcomes for the Kuminga saga to develop into tomorrow afternoon. Here's how each of those options would play out in a choose your own adventure world:

Kuminga chooses a college, but not Texas Tech.

In a surprise decision, Jonathon Kuminga chose to head to the NCAA and join the Auburn Tigers. The uncertainty surrounding the G League and the NBA draft process this season made Kuminga nervous and made him choose the safer option of the NCAA. He chose to play outside of his brothers shadow for Aubrun. In unrelated news, Bruce Pearl is under investigation by the NCAA for recruiting violations.

Kuminga chooses the professional ranks, but not the G League.

In a shocking turn of events phenom, Jonathon Kuminga has chosen the NBL over other options on the table following R.J. Hampton and LaMelo Ball's move from the previous year. Kuminga will likely be the number one overall pick in 2021. A speculated reason or the choice is that New Zealand is believed to be COVID-19 free, which cannot be said for the American options available to Kuminga.

Kuminga chooses Texas Tech.

Chris Beard has done it again. He's now recruited the best recruit ever for the third time in program history and this time Texas Tech is now the favorite for the Big 12 title and the NCAA Championship.

Kuminga chooses the G League.

Kuminga chooses the G League and takes his brother Joel Ntambwe with him.

Jonathon Kuminga has accepted a nearly $500 thousand dollar deal to head to the NBA's G League. In the new program, he'll be eligible for the NBA draft next offseason and receive an education opportunity at some point in the future through Arizona State. In somewhat of a surprise Joel Ntambwe has decided to join his brother and join the G League. Ntambwe will not return to Texas Tech where he spent the last year of his time getting top-notch training and nutrition.
