Wild Lark Books is a new bookstore that is under construction and expected to open in November 2021.

Wild Lark Books was founded by Brianne van Reenen, a sales and marketing expert that started Wild Lark Strategies in 2018. This original company served small and medium-sized businesses to help them improve their marketing.

Reenan has worked in the world of marketing for around 15 years. She has done amazing work within that world, and found the next leg of her journey through her love of storytelling and building communities.

Wild Lark Books will be located in the heart of Lubbock, at 513 Broadway Street. Reenan recognized that Lubbock lacked a quaint and local bookshop, so she wanted to fill that gap. The bookshop will allow authors access to affordable self-publication packages, along with what they need to learn excellent brand building, audience engagement, and digital marketing.

The idea came to Reenan through her observation of a Scottish bookshop that she visited in 2019. Along with that trip, she saw how many authors struggle to build their brands and earn recognition in the writing community.

Going the traditional route of hiring an agent and going through major publishers doesn’t always work out. That is where she wanted to provide an alternative outlet for those wishing to self-publish their work.

Along with their publication program, they will be stocking their shelves with “bespoke treasures” for you to discover. Until their physical storefront opens, Wild Lark Books is offering an online service where you can contact them directly and place orders for books you wish to purchase.

If you wish to support this endeavor, then you can donate to the Wild Lark Books Fund. This fund will help serve as a resource for the authors that wish to self-publish through this service. You can read more about the book fund and how to donate on their website.
