Brooklyn, New York Was the Scene Once Again for “Nathan’s Annual 4th of July Hot Dog Eating Championship” and Here are Your 2013 Results [VIDEO]

Once again Coney Island Brooklyn, New York was the location for the Fourth of July's Annual "Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest", The 2013 edition of the event will be the most spectacular to date.

The biggest names in competitive eating flexed their stomach muscles Thursday, while the truly purist competitive eaters say that they do it for the love of the sport. But I have little doubt that the cash prizes help the hot dogs go down easier. This year’s competition will feature $40,000 in total prize money. And to think that I do this to myself for free!

Nathan’s hasn’t broken down how the prize money will be distributed, but the governing body of the event allotted $20,000 for both the men and women, That's right women scarf the dogs as well

It should come to no surprise to any of you that Joey Chestnut was able to win his seventh straight championship this year downong a record setting 69 Hot Dogs complete with buns...

And for all my ladies out there, Sonja Thomas, a.k.a. the Black Widow, was able to hold off upstart "The Lovely" Juliet Lee in the women's competition. Thomas ate just shy of 37 hot dogs compared to Lee's even 36, securing herself as the only women's champion since the event was divided into separate divisions in 2011.
