Being a Girl Already Kind of Sucks and Now We Can’t Even Pee in the Shower
According to a medical doctor that specializes in all things bladder and pelvic floor-related things, standing to pee in your shower can be a big-time no-no for ladies. Apparently, our bodies are not meant to stand during urination and it can result in the inability to "hold it" later on in life.
What a great thing to find out at the ripe age of 32! My entire life has been a lie. Crap.
Dr. Alicia Jeffery-Thomas, known on TikTok as scrambledjam, uses her page to answers tons of different questions that people have about their bodies. She mentions that peeing in the shower could actually trigger you to want to urinate every time you hear running water in the future, and that women are not able to properly empty their bladders while standing in the shower. It's something that should be done while seated to prevent future problems.
I've never heard this in my entire life, and it seems like it might be kind of important. I'm not looking forward to growing old and not being able to control my tinkle. On the other hand, I don't think I will be able to force myself out of the nice, hot shower to get my toilet totally soaked when I need to pee in the middle of taking a shower.
Also, if you're a man who wasn't aware that women actually peed in the shower too, well...now you know. No shame in the shower game, but it looks like it's time to throw in the towel on shower tinkles for the sake of our hoo-haw. Bummer.
