Coronavirus cases are continuing to rise across Lubbock and the region. The last time we saw a spike in cases, the hospitals in the area limited how many people could visit loved ones who were in the hospital, whether they were in the hospital for coronavirus or not. Some hospitals didn't allow anyone to visit.

During this spike with the delta variant, Covenant Health is restricting how many people can visit non-COVID patients. Patients with COVID-19 are not allowed visitors at this time according to a press release from Covenant Health.

Covenant Health states that the reason behind the change is safety. Covenant says the safety of their patients, caregivers, visitors is a top priority. Here are a few of the changes announced today.

Covenant Medical Center: Non-COVID patients may have 2 visitors at a time. Masks are required for all visitors. COVID patients are not allowed any visitors.

Covenant Children’s: Non-COVID patients may have 2 visitors at a time. Masks are required for all visitors age 2 and up. COVID patients are allowed one visitor per day. COVID patient visitor must be 18 years or older.
