They also make over $100,000 on average, have below a 1 percent unemployment rate, and a high job satisfaction rate. It's estimated that nearly 40,000 physician assistant positions will open up over the next 10 years.

There are currently open positions now hiring in Lubbock, according to Indeed.com. Another useful term that is almost interchangeable with PA is Nurse Practitioner. Both major hospitals, UMC and Covenant, currently have multiple open positions. Lubbock Family Medicine is offering $50-$55 dollars an hour for Nurse Practitioners.
Of course, many of us do not have a Master's Degree and logged clinical hours. However, the medical field is still lucrative and has many open positions with a wide range of requirements.
Phlebotomy is a high-demand job, with the only requirement being a high school diploma or GED. Most places will help you get a certification after you're already working there. The average salary for a phlebotomist is $32,710, but with experience and certifications, it can pay much higher. And yes, there are plenty of openings in Lubbock for phlebotomy as well.
