What Time is Trick or Treating Starting in Lubbock?

Tonight’s the night we’ve all been waiting for. Costumes have been prepared, candy has been purchased, and the Halloween festivities are ready to commence.

The only questions is: ‘What time does trick or treating start?’

I had this question floating around my head for a while, because there are a few options that seem feasible.

You have the people that want to start as soon as possible before the sun sets and in time to get their kids back inside for dinner and bedtime. There are also the older kids that prefer to go out after dark to really get the spooky experience. Then there are the people that just make their way out whenever they can, not minding if it is before or after dark.

While the simplest answer seems to be preparing for the early birds and sticking around for the later crowd, not everyone can do that.

So, I did some digging on Facebook and found a time that the majority of people agree on as when they will start handing out candy. It gives time for those wishing to be out before dark, but also won’t have most people rushing home from work to prepare.

The most common time I saw was 6:00 p.m.

Of course, that time doesn’t work for everyone. So, be sure to follow the classic rule that porch lights turned off means no candy, and porch lights that are turned on means the house is most likely accepting trick or treaters.
