Back in the day we had toys like lawn darts to play with, a steel spike you threw into the air trying to land the dart inside a small plastic hoop without hitting your friend in the head.

Parents today are a little smarter. The last thing that they want is to buy their child a toy that ends up hurting them. Walmart has issued a recall on the "My Sweet Love / My Sweet Baby Cuddle Care" doll sets that were sold nationwide from August 2012 – March 2014. The Consumer Product Safety Commission is warning parents that the toy can cause BURNS when the circuit board in the doll’s chest overheats.

So far Walmart has received 12 incident reports, two of those included burns and blisters.

"My Sweet Love / My Sweet Baby electronic baby doll comes in pink floral clothing and matching knit hat. The 16 inch doll is packaged with a toy medical check-up kit including a stethoscope, feeding spoon, thermometer and syringe. The doll’s electronics cause her to babble when she gets “sick,” her cheeks turn red and she starts coughing. Using the medical kit pieces cause the symptoms to stop."

How do you decide if you have one?

According to the CPSC and  WIFE News Channel 14:

  1. "My Sweet Baby" is printed on the front of the clear plastic and cardboard packaging.
  2. Officials say the doll is identified by UPC 6-04576-16800-5 and a date code which begins with WM. The date code is printed on the stuffed article label sewn into the bottom of the doll.
  3. Officials say consumers should immediately take the dolls from children, remove the batteries and return the doll to any Walmart store for a full refund.

They were sold at Walmart stores nationwide from August 2012 through March 2014.
