Does traffic in Lubbock stress you out? If it does, just know that you aren't alone. According to the website fleetlogging.com, Lubbock is the number one city in America when it comes to stressed drivers with a 75% stress rate.

According to the study that was done, Lubbock isn't stressed all time, just when there are traffic problems. And that's the good news. We aren't Austin where you are in traffic most of the day. As someone who grew up in Dallas can tell you, Lubbock's traffic is not too bad. But when bad weather hits or it's that 30 minute window when everyone seems to be getting off of work, or Friday any time between 3 and 5:30 p.m. things can get a little stressful.

The American city where traffic causes the most stress is Lubbock in Texas. We found that three-quarters of all traffic-themed tweets from Lubbock showed signs of stress. The city suffered harsh icy conditions this winter. Delays were caused by slower, safer drivers and the road closures that accompany major collisions. The city suffered a glut of fatal accidents early in 2021, leading traffic police to up their vigilance against reckless drivers.

The study doesn't exactly break down all the things that make Lubbock drivers stressed, but here are a few of mine.

I get stressed out and annoyed at drivers on Loop 289 who decide to go under the speed limit in each lane. The left lane is meant for passing. Kindly move. Other annoyance? The people who use the turn lane as their own personal lane to travel before merging into real traffic. We also have way too may traffic lights in Lubbock that aren't synched correctly. Also, when there is less than an inch of snow on the ground, you don't always have to go 10 mph.

I'm sure I could think of a few more. Maybe we really are stressed out here.
