In Shallowater, Texas, just a short drive from Lubbock, there is an absolutely delicious hidden gem.

A southern staple that is hard to not love is the classic candied pecan. It’s sweet, chewy, nutty, and delicious. You can add them to salads, oatmeal, any recipe you see fit, or simply snack on them on their own.

With the Texas state tree being the pecan tree, I think it’s safe to assume that we have some of the best pecans around. I think, If you say you don’t care for pecans, you have to try them fresh before fully forming your opinion.

If you aren’t sure where to go to get some truly delicious pecans, I have the place for you.

Located just outside of Lubbock, Texas in the town of Shallowater, is a pecan company like no other. Not only do they shell local pecans via their business Caprock Shelling, but they also make a variety of delicious candied pecans via their shop Hoot-n-Annie Pecan Company.

It is a family run business that used their agricultural, engineering, and design skills to form a great company with well-made products.

They offer a variety of flavors from seasonal favorites like Pumpkin Spice and White Chocolate Peppermint, bold and unique tastes like ‘Nanner Colada and Firebawl, to savory options like their bold Ranch-n-Butter pecans. They also make a variety of pecan brittle flavors, pecan oil, and pecan flour.

One of my favorite details is that their pecan packaging and t-shirts are screen printed in-house.

You can buy their products in person at their shop located at 10615 Clovis Road, or order online at hootnanniepecancompany.com.

If you visit in person, you can sample all of the flavors they currently have for sale and chat with their friendly and knowledgeable staff. Until then, keep scrolling to take a look inside at what you can expect when you visit.
