Summer is on the way and all I can think about is when I can finally go swimming. The only problem is that I don’t have a pool and I know all of the public swimming options in Lubbock will be packed once it’s warm enough.

If you happen to live in a community with a pool, or simply have one of your own, then this isn’t a problem for you. However, for those of us looking for a great swimming option in town and want some privacy, there is a great pool rental option here in Lubbock.

The YWCA Sun ’n Fun, located at 6204 Elgin Ave, has a great pool with diving boards, a zero-depth entry, lounge chairs, umbrellas, and more. They have two different rental choices for their pool, including a fully private, and a semi-private option.

The semi-private rental is a two hour window for up to 20 people. It comes with a reserved shaded area with two tables and four loungers. They also provide four pizzas and 20 drinks for your party. While you do have a reserved area, the pool is still open to the public and you will not have the entire pool to yourself. This option will cost you $250.

The fully private option is a two hour window for up to 50 guests. You will have the entire pool to yourself and can bring in any outside food and drink you’d like, excluding glass bottles and alcohol. You will also have your own private lifeguard on duty. This option will cost you $500.

If you have enough people that want to attend, and everyone splits the cost, this can be an affordable way to have a private pool experience with your friends and family. You can visit the official YWCA Sun ’n Fun website for more information.
