Would You Like Your Cereal With a Side of Salmonella? [RECALL]
Cereal should be a good source of nutrients, not salmonella.
The Food and Drug Admininistration has announced that Kellogg's has instituted a voluntary recall across the U.S. of certain sizes of Kellogg's Honey Smacks. (The one with the frog on it.)
From The FDA:
The FDA, CDC, along with state and local officials are investigating a multi-state outbreak of Salmonella Mbandaka infections. Epidemiologic and preliminary traceback evidence indicates that Kellogg's Honey Smacks sweetened puffed wheat cereal is a likely source of this outbreak.
The Honey Smacks products recalled are:
- UPC code 3800039103, 15.3 oz. with a best if used by date of June 14, 2018 - June 14, 2019
- UPC code 3800014810, 23 oz. with a best if used by date of June 14, 2018 - June 14, 2019.
It's safe to say that if you have any of these, DO NOT EAT THEM. Return them for a full refund.
And don't blame the Dig 'Um the Frog; it's not his fault.
