Wolfforth Man Arrested for Impersonating EMS and Stealing Equipment

51-year-old Jesse Taylor of Wolfforth has been arrested after it's said he impersonated an emergency medical services technician and stole medical equipment from University Medical Center.

KAMC News reports that on Saturday, May 22nd, Taylor interacted with multiple medical employees. The director of the Lubbock Ambulance Service told police that Taylor's demeanor seemed off. The director had also been told by various other agencies that Taylor was impersonating the director of EMS in Wolfforth.

Taylor was seen wearing an ID badge from US Customs and was said to have been carrying a firearm. He allegedly told paramedics that he needed to inspect the AED defibrillator. Taylor told an employee that the "school had used theirs and needed  replacement." That employee eventually gave him the defibrillator, thinking he actually worked for EMS.

University Medical Center ended up calling police at some point to report that Taylor had stolen medical equipment.

Wolfforth Fire and EMS even put out a public warning about Taylor on their social media accounts the weekend this all happened. The warnings said that Taylor, for some reason, had tried getting access to the medical records of a 13-year-old.

As of Tuesday, May 25, Taylor remained in the Lubbock County Detention Center on a charge of impersonating a public servant and had his bond set at $25,000.
