Horror movies and clowns have a very special relationship. Just when you think cinematic creepy clowns couldn't get creepier, here comes Art the Clown, with his mime-y getup, rotten teeth and jaunty wee top hat. It's a *chef's kiss* look for even the most discerning horror clown fan.

Art the Clown had his moment in the spotlight in the infamously gory, disturbing and funny (yes, funny) 2016 film, Terrifier. Now, he's back for round 2. That is, Terrifier 2, which is getting only two screenings in Lubbock from what I was able to find.

Terrifier 2 is screening twice on October 6th, 2022 at Lubbock's Premiere Cinemas (6002 Slide Road, inside the South Plains Mall) at 7:15 p.m., or, if you really don't want to sleep that night, at 10:15 p.m.

Terrifier 2 is remarkable in that it was crowd-funded, giving writer/director/producer Damien Leone the most creative control. The film was impacted by COVID-19, as were many others, so it's finally getting its release this year. Good murder clowns come to those who wait...or something.

If you haven't seen the original Terrifier, I must warn you that it's full of extreme, very graphic, and technically quite impressive gore. It's not for the squeamish or faint of heart. I imagine Terrifier 2 is the same, if not more intense. It apparently has more "narrative" than the first, if that's what turned you off the original.

To purchase tickets in advance, you can visit Premiere Cinemas' website. You may want to act quick, as the 7:15 p.m. screening is already filling up. I think I might need a couple of those amazing frozen Jack and Cokes before I dare watch Terrifier 2.

Can't make it to the theater October 6th? Terrifier 2 will also be available to stream, but you'll have to have the Screambox app to do so. Personally, I prefer horror in the theater so I can feast on the delicious screams of those near me enjoy everyone's awesome energy.
