A memorial service has been scheduled for this Saturday, August 22nd, to remember the life of Tommy McVay.

Friends, family, former players, and coaches will be in attendance in order to maintain social distancing at the United Supermarkets Arena, where the service will be held at 2 p.m. The service will also be streamed at TexasTech.TV and ESPN+, as well as the university's official Facebook and Twitter pages.

Masks will be required inside the University Supermarkets Arena, and the McVay Family has requested attendees wear Texas Tech gear instead of traditional funeral attire in memory of McVay's 20-plus years as a member of the Red Raider football program.

Both Kliff Kingsbury and Matt Wells will be among the featured speakers on Saturday, as well as Red Raider legend Wes Welker, who was McVay's first great recruit.

According to Texas Tech, in addition to Saturday’s memorial service, McVay’s legacy at Texas Tech will be forever remembered through an endowed scholarship that has been established in his name. You can donate in McVay's honor here.
