UMC to Permanently Close Drive-Up COVID-19 Screening
Saturday, June 27th will be the last day that University Medical Center's drive-up COVID-19 screening will be open.
KAMC News reports that UMC's laboratory partner in Austin says that they are critically low on supplies and must save them for critical care units inside hospitals. Therefore, no more supplies will be provided to other testing sites.
Lubbock's only COVID-19 Drive-Up Screening Clinic will be forced to cease operations for general testing immediately. Pre-operative screenings will continue through the 27th.
Starting on Tuesday, June 30th, pre-operative screenings will be done in Outpatient Surgery the day of surgery for surgeries done at UMC.
Rapid tests are still available for patients meeting specific criteria in the following UMC clinic locations:
- UMC Express Care at South Plains Mall
