Tobey Maguire Sued After Winning Over $300,000 In Illegal Poker Game
In what sounds like something straight out of a movie, RadarOnline is exclusively reporting that ‘Spider-Man’ star Tobey Maguire is the target of a lawsuit over a multi-million dollar, illegal poker game.
The suit, filed in Los Angeles, claims that Maguire won over $300,000 from hedge fund manager Brad Ruderman. Ruderman allegedly used some of the money he had earned from an illegal Ponzi scheme, in which he embezzled investor funds to pay off his debts. Now, the investors want their money back.
The illegal games were “exclusive events, by invitation only, and that there was a regular roster of players consisting of wealthy celebrities, entrepreneurs, attorneys and businessmen,” the lawsuit says.
Other A-list participates included Matt Damon, Leonardo DiCaprio and Ben Affleck, though they are not being sued, according to the report.
Ruderman is currently in a Texas prison until 2018 on two counts of wire fraud and two counts of investment adviser fraud, according to the report.
